For a while, Middelburg was the second Dutch East-India Company trading city of our country after Amsterdam.
Middelburg offers an extensive store stock with the Thursday evening as shopping evening and is provided with a wide range of restaurants. There is also nothing short of the visitor in the cultural field, museums, tours and exhibitions are open all year round. A fun attraction for the whole family is Miniature Walcheren, Zeeland-in-the-small, Madurodam in the polder, as it were. Middelburg has an train station and has spacious parking facilities.
